Maybe he's a racist...
and doesn't even realize it. I'm convinced many with his politics simply refuse to accept that about themselves, preferring to believe its just another Liberal slander. Just another reason why the antifas need and deserve to be hated and humiliated...and eliminated.
After all, self-righteous indignation certainly fits in nicely with that psychological profile.
