"...is there hope for our democracy?"
Yeah, I actually think so:
“The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions,” Mueller wrote. “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.”
It sounds like Robert Mueller is angry.
You don't want to make Robert Mueller angry.
Barr is scheduled to appear Wednesday morning before the Senate Judiciary Committee...where he is likely to be questioned at length about his interactions with Mueller.
Meanwhile, Nadler just revealed he's being stonewalled about getting Mueller to testify, which the DOJ can apparently get away with while Mueller is an employee.
If you make Robert Mueller angry enough, he may well quit his job at the DOJ.
And all hell will rain down on Barr and his client.
