My first 'real' computer (NOT Counting ATARI etc) cost my family 2 cows - sold them and used the money to buy a computer when I went off to college... we joked that computing power would be measured in units of cow-power. Its clock rate was, I think, 30MHz...
A large part of the cost was the HUGE 30Megabyte hard-drive... now you can get more than 30,000 times that for ~$450 and it is the size of a fingernail...
