It's funny,
the Republicans started off as the anti-slavery party, and the Democrats were the opposite. But sometime in 1950s or 1960s they switched sides. Its not clear what caused it; Civil Rights, bussing, Nixon's Southern Strategy, but that's irrelevant. The fact is the transformation is now complete.
