The protesters in Hong Kong have adapted a Bruce Lee line: "Be strong as ice, be fluid like water, gather like dew, scatter like mist". "Be Water" for short.

What they and Antifa have in common is that neither has a formal organization. There's no entity "Antifa" to go after, no "Hong Kong Central", just people of conscience who get the word through electronic channels, gather and protest, then scatter like mist.

I would have to disagree that there's "no ANTIFA". There most certainly is, and there are countless images and videos (and court cases and cracked skulls) to prove it. But nothing a fascist-leaning government can grab on to. That's by design--this (Antifa and HK) looks to me like a set of tactics that would naturally evolve in the midst of a 21st century surveillance state. Whether China or America. And I think it's quite workable, because they're using technology in place of organization; what, after all, is an organization but a big carbon-based communication system?

Silicon is faster, electrons are invisible, and it can all be encrypted.

Thank about that: You can encrypt your organization.

Be Water.
