Erdogan is pissed because the US won't extradite that dissident cleric who has claimed asylum in the US (it would look awful if we surrendered him now, especially after the way Erdogan has been cracking down on his domestic political opponents). So Erdogan has been buying Russian anti-aircraft systems and threatening our monster Air Force base at Incirlik (yeah, the one where we stockpile nukes) with eviction--or worse. This is the key refueling and forward support base for all our air ops in the middle east.

Of course, any hope that relations with Turkey will return to normal after Trump is gone are pretty much gone now that Donald has made public the contents of his ridiculous schoolyard bully letter to the Turkish President. Erdogan has responded by simply cracking down on the Kurds and working with the Russians. It doesn't look like he was intimidated one bit.

If I was Donald I would start evacuating Incirlik immediately, and take our nukes home before they wind up being shipped to Russia--or even Iran.
