All I'm trying to say is that this man and this philosophy didn't sneak up on us, nor was it forced on us by armed men in the dead of night. And he had plenty of help in getting where he is. We knew exactly what we were getting into when we voted for Trump, and the social superstition and cultural pathology his politics are rooted in and based on. The fact some of us fought against this is irrelevant, clearly we did not do so strongly enough, nor in great enough numbers.

Like the German people, we, too, are going to have to carry that weight a long time. And, as you point out, the rest of the world will suffer as well. They will never forgive us.
