It all seems to hinge now on whether the GOP can succeed in voting down the motion to admit additional testimony. It is almost certain that if they can, the Senate will be able to acquit the President.
It could be argued that this will be a Pyrrhic Victory, that the extent of their duplicity will be so clear and convincing that the President and the Republicans will surely lose the next election because of the undeniability of their treachery and their lies.
But then again, this is Superbowl Weekend. Is the American voter listening? Does he even care? Lets not be quick to blame Trump, or even Conservatism, for the triumph of American fascism. We brought this all on ourselves.
