Hogan became a Holocaust denier, climate change denier, AIDS denier, and a Velikovsky nutcase...

So many science fiction writers went stark raving mad- almost always while adopting extreme right-wing/libertarian ideology...
Orson Scott Card, Crichton, Heinlein, Niven, Pournelle...

Hmmmm...

There is a good science fiction tale to be written on this... I am tempted to take a stab at it, but dare I take the risk...? Do I dare risk a fate worse than death?
