Always be wary
A month or so ago, Mrs. P's Surface was doing the BSOD routine on a regular basis. Would take a couple of reboots to get it going again. Then, it is fine. Don't even remember what I did 'cause I did so many things. Disk scans, driver updates, defrags, yadda.
Yeah, wipe my "official" folders. Whatever. Clear up some drive space. Like you, I'm old school when it comes to data folders.
