I read Kim Stanley Robinson's "New York 2140" while keeping a nervous eye on the the latest research of the melting ice sheets. Pretty decent novel about a coastal city drowning.
Other than that, not much novel reading these days. Too many other projects.
For short, pre-bed reads, I've taken to taking one of the Encyclopedia Britannica's I inherited from my parents, cracking it open, and reading something at random. They are old, sure, but I learn something new every night. This week it is Volume 11, Halicar-Impala.
(I've noticed that the volume titles can provide great online social media handles! Botha-Cartage. Lightning-Maximilian. Razor-Schurz. Napolean-Ozonolysis, Garrison-Halibut.)
