To ER:
Thank you ER for the intelligent response to my questions, I really do appreciate the information and agree with most of the assessment that you explain. My agreement is 100% for the numbers 1 and 2 in your post.
The “fuzziness” in my mind about the heating effect of the planet seems to originate from my lack of understanding the details of the chemistry and the physics that are involved in the process of heating the environment.
In your post you state that “Adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere makes it increasingly opaque to infrared.”
There are many explanations of how it works on YouTube:

On link 4 there is a comment from: Lawney Malbrough
“Science should never be about emotions. It should be about facts data and reasoning.”
I agree with that above statement, and with the changes in the environment but studying all the data that I get on the internet does not solve the problem. I will keep an open mind about the subject until I understand the physics and chemistry underlying the phenomenon.
I believe the following statement:
Anything that increases or decreases the amount of incoming or outgoing energy disturbs Earth’s radiative equilibrium; global temperatures must rise or fall in response.
