The concept of “not knowing” is not difficult to grasp, it is simply easier to comprehend that the existence of the universe has a basis in a infinite intelligence and power that may be impossible to understand, but at the same time, “since” such power and intelligence exists, there is hope that some day in the distant future humans can also become that intelligent and powerful.
As you stated in your answer to Eri on Current Events:
“We must seek a future where everyone will have an opportunity, not just a job, but a way to invest in one’s own life in a dream for the future for the sake of their children.”
By BELIEVING that something greater already exists somewhere in the universe, one is more likely to strive towards a future where such greatness is a reality on this planet.
For instance if you believe that the so called UFO’s are real, then it is simple to say that; “if THEY can do it, then WE can do it,” and by studying all the laws of nature, we will eventually be able to make flying machines that would defy understanding right now.
On the other hand, if you say that “such machines can not now or ever exist,” then you are not likely to invest time into creating something like that.
