Thanks for posting that, SDR. I read the linked article (http://repository.azgs.az.gov/sites/default/files/dlio/files/nid1280/cr-11-b_precarious_rocks.pdf) a while back and it is great research.
I like that the article you linked starts with Balanced Rock in Garden of the Gods, a place I know very well. I remember that rumor back in the 1990's. But the article does not mention that the bottom is re-enforced with concrete after local college students attempted to push it over a long time before. I'd have to look it up to get the date right.
