There are fates worth than death- I have seen them close up. People should have the right to choose how they end their lives- when there is no hope of improvement and only decline in their future they should be given a humane way out.
I saw my grandmother decline into dementia- she spent years in a condition of mindless confusion anger and terror, no one deserves that... (She was a vile person, but she in no way deserved that fate.)
My grandfather died after a long hopeless ordeal with cancer- suffering immensely.
While they would never have chosen euthanasia, I hope that I would have that option if ever presented with a similar situation.
