They remind me a lot of the principled and compassionate liberals who actually traveled to the USSR and to Cuba and saw that Socialism, too, can go terribly, terribly wrong.

Unfortunately, most of us, regardless of our political persuasions, would rather just insist on error than admit we were wrong. And no one likes to admit they were fooled. Human nature, I guess.

But at least I think they've learned something; now that they've unleashed the beast, they're NOT "going to be able to control it".
