You seem to be implying that only free neutrons can interact or interfere with nuclei, and you seem to be of the opinion that; even though the *waste* from nuclear power plants is much higher in energy than the original fuel; it is *natural* and therefore harmless. No you would not suggest that, more likely you would suggest that the energy is caused by the concentration of the material, somewhat similar to sunlight going through a magnifying lens into a focal point.
Anyway, your *radioactive cow* story was very interesting and the rest of it was informative.
