I’ve now read it through.
I’m aware but not especially well educated. I’ve got huge cultural gaps in my knowledge and what I know is largely self taught as I did university without attending tutorials. That doesn’t mean I don’t understand the issues you raise, I do and am fairly familiar with them but I couldn’t write as eloquently as you do.
My grandparents lived through the Great War, albeit at a distance for one set. The others had moved from mainland Europe to one of the UK countries but were in the US by the time of the Cuban missile crisis and
Kennedy.
