The thing about the apple analogy

Is the people using the "a few bad apples" phrase nearly always use it to convey that it's an isolated problem and in no way indicates a systemic problem...

For instance a police chief saying that the cops recently found guilty of beating confessions out of suspects were 'a few bad apples'

But the full maxim is "A few bad apples spoil the bunch", meaning that if you have found a few bad apples, chances are the rest of your apples are bad as well...

The GOP is a barrel of rotting apples, Tucker and Laura are the maggots that spread the rot and grow fat off it.
