There is no "immigration problem".

If American business wouldn't hire them illegally they wouldn't come here illegally. Every effort to enforce the EXISTING foreign labor laws has been stopped in Congress by the Republicans. People come here looking for work, and they can always get hired (illegally) by businesses who don't want to pay workers a decent wage, or face unions, etc. If you start fining or jailing the businessmen who do, the problem will stop. Overnight. Guaranfuckingteed.

Those who come here seeking asylum from war, crime or famine in their home countries can be processed through the existing system, just like the Cubans, Vietnamese, Afghans and Ukrainians. Or they can live here with relatives, charities, or anyone willing to put them up. Just don't give them a work permit until they are fully registered and in the system. And the system will work a lot better when the economic refugees realize they can't work unless they play by the rules.

The borders are already open, most immigrants come here by jet airliner or by car, very few come across the border by swimming the Rio Grande or climbing over the Wall. As for those States that bus the immigrants to the North, well that problem can be easily solved. Dealing with immigration is a federal law. States that try to take over that responsibility should be punished. I would suggest confiscating the busses and auctioning them off. The bus companies would quickly learn to cooperate.

Our borders should be wide open. No restrictions. We should treat them all like tourists. We just don't let them work. Why is this so hard to understand?

Americans go overseas looking for cheap labor to do their dirty work, then try to make them leave on payday. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.
