Well God knows I never looked like that...;). Back to your CE post on the idea that the kind heart of candy stripers is exploited.
I never felt exploited.It is all a process. I was to too young to work...so I volunteered. I volunteered at the hospital because at the time I thought I wanted to be a nurse. When I became of age, I was given priority to being hired as a nurse's aide.
My next step was going to school as a nurse, but I chose another path.
For me, and this is back in the early seventies, it was all about setting goals and the progression of steps to get there.
