If Trump wins AGAIN due to an electoral college technicality it suggests that venerable old constitutional institution is definitely in need of some reform--not that that's likely to happen anytime soon.

George W Bush won his second election with a popular majority, which was to be expected, the US had been attacked on 9/11 and Americans do not like to switch horses in mid stream during wartime. But other than that election, the Republican Presidential candidates have not been able to win a popular majority of American voters for over thirty years.

Its probably a moot point anyway. If Trump wins in 2024, the GOP will control reapportionment, local election commissions, the state houses and the courts, as well as the press. I expect no Democrat will ever be elected to the US Presidency again.
