I have pointed out the Great Depression/WWII analogy a number of times. Do you think the people who lived through those dark times could have ever fathomed the incredible prosperity the coming decades would bring?
Americans have always been pessimists. Just look at this site! I try to buck the trend and hope for the unimagined possibilities.
