Middle powers are not likely to roll over. Look at how Ukraine is putting so much hurt on the Ruskies right now. Look at how Iran has humiliated Trump's idiotic military adventure. Israel will certainly never do the bidding of any nation if it threatens their own security. India is a rising power. Pakistan has nukes. Vietnam is nobody's dog to kick. And consider how Germany and Japan are both going full steam ahead with rearming. That will certainly shift the balance of power in Europe and Asia.

Trump's retreat from the commitments and alliance structure we built and maintained for a lifetime has turned the relatively stable world order on its head.
