You make a lot of good points, Mr Big Wet Blanket. But keep in mind there is a lot of engineering and money going into these ideas. The old paradigms may no longer apply, or may not in the near future. Think about how the manufacture of 1000 Starships per year will change the space launch industry.

Here's a bit more optimistic viewpoint than yours. Please read it:

Space-based manufacturing and point-to-point delivery anywhere on Earth in 90 minutes are industries that will be worth tens of billions within the next five years.
