If you have a powerful social network setup (and many famous people and organizations do, not just politicians), it's pretty easy to get a shitload of "votes" for online polls. You don't even have to hack them. It's sort of like a distributed denial-of-service attack, but a slower one that doesn't actually take down the server. Just loads it with one poll answer.
