They are also having trouble figuring out simple maintenance, prevention of theft and vandalism, hygiene, and the most rudimentary rules for taking care of yourself and your surroundings. If you look at these camps, and again, these are not the only photos I've seen, you are looking at the sort of mindset that simply drops trash on the ground because they can't be bothered to take it fifteen feet to a trash container. I've seen this behavior on the streets, I've seen it at outdoor concerts, and other places.
It expresses an underlying belief that when you hold out your hand someone should place food in it, and when you crap, someone should be behind you with a shovel. Life lived as though everything you do and are is "somebody else's problem."
These are the people everybody is pointing to and saying are the future of the country.
As the Japanese book says, everybody poops. Not everybody does it on the sidewalk.
