The government will ban the term 'Artificial Intelligence'...
WHY, when there are so many other actually IMPORTANT things to worry about, is he doing this? Forcing government agencies to revise documents in vast numbers? Its just a name, isn't it? WHY is he obsessed with this?
Well... it could be that the perverted pants-pooping pedophile president simply wants to ensure that he has a legacy in the establishing of a new term for Artificial Intelligence, it could be the dementia leading him to obsess on the completely irrelevant, or it could be that the web domain extension for his immigrant trophy wife's home country of Slovenia is '.SI' and the Trump family of course registered countless domains...
Just the very fact that THIS is what he is worried about at this time should concern everyone greatly... instead the republicans act like this is completely normal...

We are at the most dangerous time in human history, at the VERY LEAST there will be cataclysmic change on a time scale that is getting shorter and shorter... Human extinction is a very real possible/probable end result... and we (myself included) shrug our shoulders and say -'Well, it is inevitable - so lets try to be the ones that get to the inevitable first'
I try to use this new technology for good, creating the Orrery and this board for example- but the potential for using it to destroy is even greater- it is always easier to destroy than create... and the scale of destruction that this allows people access to is terrifying. As overwhelmingly fast this change has been happening, its nothing compared to the rate of change about to come- any week now, full Recursive Self Improvement (RSI) will really take off- where the AI is handed the keys to the car and given the ability to stop relying on human programmers AT ALL, and is turned loose to improve itself...
Imagine the equivalent of 100,000 or millions of AI experts unleashed and working at 1000's of times the speed of human experts to improve AI... and with each improvement the power of the AI grows and so it improves faster- the result is super-exponential growth in capabilities.
It is highly likely that reality in a year from now will be very hard for us to understand.... in a decade? It will be completely alien.... there might be a veneer of 'normalcy' in place, but scratch the surface and you will see something completely alien... assuming that human civilization survives that long... we are simply not capable of processing super-exponential change... I find myself wondering if it makes sense to be saving for retirement... the future will be fundamentally different from what we have been preparing for.
Somehow we ended up being witnesses to this era of history.... my grandmother rode a horse to school, and lived to see the space shuttle, the changes in our lives have been exponentially greater, and the rate of change is super-exponential... I am just 55, and the changes I have seen have been mind boggling- I think I have been able to keep up and use the new tools as they come into existence- this board and the orrery are my attempt to do so... but there will come a time where I cannot keep up... and then will come a time where essentially NO ONE can keep up... what happens then?
