Thanks, Frank.
Fringe is another one whose start I missed, and we're talking JJ Abrams here: When I tried to watch random episodes out of the middle, I was totally Lost. That guy demands total loyalty from his audience right from the pilot, or you get left behind.
I have a couple of over-the-air HDTV tuners in my rube goldberg system, so I can watch new episodes on the networks. I'll make a note of Friday at 9.
Amazon just put "Lost" up for free with a Prime membership, so I have six years of those to catch up on. And "Fringe" is for sale at Amazon, and the latest season streams for free from hulu.com. I could start catching up on it too.
Odd bit o'trivia: Pricing for videos online is totally random, arbitrary, and capricious, and for TV shows, stuck on a dogmatic insistence on $2.99/episode. Except for random lightning-bolt-from-heaven discounts...in this case, seems like JJ Abrams is heavily discounted at Amazon, where "Lost" in HD is down to 91 cents/episode. And Fringe is $1.50 episode.
You can probably tell that the hassle of figuring out pricing is the part of cutting the cord that's driving me crazy. Can't budget, can't plan, all I can do is scan Amazon every day trying to catch random discounts. Will I ever again get a season of Dr. Who in HD for $8? Who knows? But the uncertaintly keeps me looking. I hate being manipulated like that by retailers.
Anyway, thanks for listening to that, and thanks for the recommendation.
