Re: Occupy Wall Street starts to crumble

Demonstrating an admirable restraint along the way. Having been infiltrated by other groups with more violent agendas they are deciding to bag it for a while. There are several interesting things.

First, one doesn't run an experiment forever. And a lot of lessons have been learned.

Second, there is tremendous support for these people among the former middle class. This is no rag-tag welfare revolt, these people reflect the mood and values of much of the country. They can understand the difference between capitalism and state-sponsored greed, and at a time when there are so many have-nots it's obscene there are so many with so much more than anyone needs.

Third, I'd bet the next movement will be more controlled, possibly with ID cards, so as to be more focused, carry a tighter message and be more sympathetic to the wider community.

Fourth, it's shown a movement like this can live off the land, that the community will support it with food and other services.

A wildly successful experiment, I think. With widely supported message which will only get stronger the more it is ignored.

The Conservative sack dance over the end of the trial seems a bit like a football team, having been beaten 100 to 0, jeering at the opponents as they leave the field as the time is up. "Cowards!!" "Can't take any more??!!" "You never were any good!!" "That's right, go home to Mama!!"
It's been wildly successful.
