Polls are useful if their methodology is strict enough.
All "online" polls are suspect, for a number of reasons. Regular polls, usually by phone under various restrictions, are better. It's always important to punch past the news writers to get to the actual poll where you can examine all the questions and answers yourself, along with the demographics of the people who took the poll.
