Au, contraire, mon ami. You DID mean to confuse the issue. We were talking about the clear meaning of the Constitution, true, but only as it relates to keeping and bearing arms.
And then you added something about Commerce. Gratuitous, irrelevant, intended to divert and confuse. No connection to arms was mentioned, certainly for a reason.
The clear meaning of, say, the Gettysburg Address as it relates to Lincoln's perception of the Civil war does not also include the clear meaning of NAFTA unless someone is wanting to confuse the issue.
To respond "Well, we were talking about 'clear meaning'" would be silly, I'm sure you would agree.
