I saw the goat program on the Discovery channel.
I couldn’t help but wonder if everyone is given a goat then the price of goat products will plummet and so will the standard of living of the original industrious goat herders.
A good life for a few herders or "milk for all"? Pitfalls of a planned economy.
(Reminds of the time I crumbled a piece of bread onto a huge anthill in the wilds of eastern WA. As I watched the ants carry the bread into their "city" I wondered how much stronger this colony would be from the windfall I gave them. The next day I hiked back to the spot where I fed the ants. When I got there, a deer had torn the anthill completely apart looking for the bread.)
I’m not saying aid is bad, just that there might be consequences.
