Palestinian terrorists are trying to manipulate the Israeli electoral campaign. Likud and the right wing have lost support recently due to several corruption scandals, and the Palestinian extremists want to pump Sharon’s numbers back up, and a horrific terrorist attack usually does the trick. Why would Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades want Sharon to continue in power? That’s easy. Sharon has a poor public image outside of Israel and the Palestinians therefore want him to stay in power – so they can continuously blame him and Israel for all of their problems, without really doing anything constructive themselves to bring peace or help their people. God forbid that an enlightened Labor leader such as Ehud Barak or Amram Mitzna proposes pulling back from settlements and making peace with the Palestinians. Remember how lame Arafat's response was in 2000 when Barak offered to pull out of the West Bank? What would Arafat and the Palestinians do if they actually did get a nation, and people began to notice little details, such as 25% of the PA’s budget being embezzled each year…it’s so much more convenient to just go on and on and on attacking Israel and Israelis.
