I think Mr. Hesse is on to something!!!

I wonder if I could make up a certificate from, say, The College of the Cascades, and give it to some Saudi prince in exchange for something. It would be great PR for him, and good for the old "endowment".

And as for the busybodies at WSJ -

There is no address for The College of the Cascades, because it's a private school. Very private.

The campus has a grandeur one can only imagine. Students stay off-campus, so as to encourage that grand view of the institution. Unprejudiced by visits, they are able to create the campus of their dreams.

The curriculum is private, too, as is the faculty, reclusive almost. Distinguished in their own right, uncorrupted by the Harvards and Yales of hidebound history, they are not from mainstream American education.

We do not accept government grants both as a way to maintain our intellectual independence and to stay out of jail.

We are accredited where it counts the most, in the heart and mind of our administration, faculty and student.

A good undergraduate college education these days costs about $200,000 and takes four years. Our innovative, honorary methods allows us to cut that time way, way down, way down, and the cost is negotiable. (We really do a job on the time!)

I wonder if there's any good Saudi newspaper to advertise in. To recruit students.

Arf (sounds as good as "Lakewood". And we are cheaper, I promise)
