The drums.

They start to beat like this when ANY political administration wants to "prepare the population" for some action.

Remember William Jefferson Clinton standing before a national TV audience talking about the 600,000 atrocities in the former Yugoslavia?

And how many were confirmed? What President had to say he overstated the case?

Remember the good-looking Kuwaiti "nurse" testifying in front of a Congressional committee about the Iraqis pulling the plugs on Kuwaiti incubators? She was hiding in the room, taking care of the poor little dears at the risk of her own life.

Truly a noble story, and one was amazed she was alive to share it with us.

Long after her purpose had been served, it developed she was the daughter of a Kuwaiti diplomat, was not a nurse, and hadn't been "home" to Kuwait in years.

I suspect the camps exist, that they are bad, and not as bad as the political shills would have you believe. (I wonder how easy it is to escape from something that repressive? And why there aren't more?)

And, I would bet that they aren't much different than some of the Chinese camps, which aren't hassled because they manufacture goods for American firms.

Arf (just because the drums are beating doesn't mean you HAVE to dance)
