Note the headline. The loathing, not to mention the condescending contempt for those joining up, is thick enough to cut with a knife. Fortunately, in the country as a whole, I think the military and those in it get a lot more respect.

I was in ROTC for a while during my college career, but decided against going into the military. Thanks to the demise of the draft, this became a matter of choice again. But I had the experience for a while of wearing a uniform to classes and walking through a college campus. Some fun.

Imagine having actually putting your life on the line and still having to put up with this kind of dreck.
