Oil will ALWAYS look as if it will run out on a 15-40 year timeframe because it isn't worth the effort to explore for more before we need it.

People have been wailing since at least the 1950's about the "coming oil crisis". See works by King Huppert etc.

One day we WILL run out of easy cheap oil, but not yet.

yes, there will be REGIONAL changes in oil supply and eventually we'll be dependant on OPEC again.

Remember that case of Lagavulin I bet you? We're one year closer to your ten year doomsday, and the bet is still on.

If you compare last year's statistics with this year's, are we one year nearer doomsday, or did somebody find some more oil meantime to stave off disaster yet again?
