Huh...Tom, for somebody who's criticizing "Leftist economics", you show a surprisingly shaky grasp of the subject yourself.

Interest rates are low, inflation is almost nonexistent,

And why is that, do you think? Could it be because we're in a double-dip recession? The Fed's been dropping the prime rate for a couple of years now because it thinks so. And if you'll recall the rudiments of "the law of supply-and-demand", you might figure out that inflation is low because there's no pressure--demand, remember?--to increase prices.

Another measure you conveniently left out: US productive capacity is being utilized at about 75% on average, as low as 50% in some sectors such as automobile manufacturing. This is the unanswered question about Bush's supply-side "stimulus" plan and what makes your line "I got loads of money. How come the stores are empty?"
so silly--the stores are full / there's too much supply already. No rational businessperson will invest in more supply until demand picks up, no matter how much Bush showers him with money.

most of our current economic troubles are emotional rather than based in hard numbers

Pure wishful thinking. Blame the victim, how thoroughly Republican!
