The fighter pilot who changed the art of war

Reading bios of great people is an excellent fertilizer for personal growth. Boys is an interesting work on many levels. Forty secodn Boyd, the pilot who could get on anybody's six and hose 'em in <40 seconds is a legendary figure. Later in his career he was THE person responsible for restructuring the way fighters were designed, F-16 as case in point. But even beyond that later in life he studied the art of war Sun Tsu et. al. and then redefined the US Military's approach to fighting conflicts away from the von Clausewitz's "Old Europe" model then in vogue. If you look at the fog, confusion and misdirection re:Iraq you can see Boyd's very principlas in play. A somewhat tragic figure, Boyd was a lousy husband, terrible father but a charismatic individual to work with.

There are scores of websites dedicated to his management theories worth reading.

Enjoy!
