Want to make a friendly bet...

..regarding your prediction that the war wont be over by election 2004?

Hi Fox,

The war will be long over by then and I predict active combat will cease on or before July 4, 2003.

This is no Vietnam - the majority of Iraqis want us to come in and liberate them quickly. They will not resist - and because this time they know its for keeps they will assist in even greater numbers.

The Kurdish forces are being trained as we speak. Jordan, Turkey have come around and will support our multi-pronged effort to oust Saddam ASAP.

There may even be an immediate coup of Saddam if his loyal advisors don't wish to die with him once the hostilities begin. Or perhaps he will suddenly realize exile may be preferable to death and decide to abdicate his postion.

It is almost certain he will be unable to reliably command any troops outside his own hundreds of immediate bodyguards after the first hour of the conflict.

This is not truly going to be a war - this is much closer to the "police action" that Korea was supposed to be.

Saddam is a criminal with an army - and so it takes an army to bring him to justice.

As for Martin Sheen, you can tell a lot about a man by how his son turns out. If that's the case, it's hard to have any respect for Martin Sheen.
