He is probably one of our strongest Presidents ever.

He hated communism, and helped end it in Russia and Germany. He bankrupted the USSR with the Star Wars bluff. Then he befriended Gorbachev, something totally unexpected the way he hated communism. Reagan and Gorbachev actually became good friends.

Being a teenage in the 1980’s I remember wondering not if, but when the USSR would launch nuclear weapons against us. It was a very real fear that Reagan helped take away. Sure, it cost America huge amounts of money to build up our military, but to get rid of the threat of global nuclear war it was worth it.

I hate seeing such a great man slowly fade away.
