Someone ought to point out to that clown

Anyone at all knowledgable about Hawaiin history would know that far from fighting for independance, the inhabitants of the Pacific islands of Hawaii practically begged and pleaded for the honor and privilege of membership in the United States of America.

June 27, 1959

Hawaii statehood plebiscite:

132,773 "Yes"
7,971 "No"

There were big celebrations throught Hawaii following the successful vote and application for statehood. And they clearly understood that statehood means permanently and forever.

And that's the way it ought to be for any territory applying for statehood. Congress shouldn't give Puerto Rico or any other territory serious consideration for statehood unless the inhabitants vote OVERWHELMINGLY in favor of it. Like Hawaii's 95% - 5% margin.
