This is just plain sad. The idea of inspections has been seized on as a mantra, much like holy relics were seized on by the superstitious during the plague years.

Despite evidence from the past that inspectors have been made total tools by Saddam, despite current evidence that this is being done again even as we speak--probably involving Iraqi agents in the inspection force itself, despite the logical impossibility of "inspecting" a nation the size of California when the enemy is actively attempting to conceal and deceive, these poor saps STILL hang on to the concept like some kind of magic word.

What the hell is a "tough" inspection? Where the inspectors wear leather? It certainly can't mean brandishing military threats. That would be warlike.
