I was innoculated as a child against smallpox. That was supposed to be a lifetime innoculation. But as with so many things, probably not.

A friend dropped in at the office, to leave some stuff that helps us prepare for another terror: old age. She mentioned having gone to the hardware store and asking for some plastic sheeting. (They are painting their living room.) The clerk asked if she wanted some duct tape with that. She said, in that eventuality, she plans to go outside and inhale deeply. This said with a twinkle.

I agree with LJ's panic angle. We're not on a war footing, we're still on a chicken-with-its-head-cut-off footing. Until there's some serious proposals and actions toward wartime sacrifice, besides of the First, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth, panic will be the order of the day.

You want duct tape with that?
