Now this is truly cool example of turning one's life around
from CNN:
One night twelve years ago, a young teenage hood tried to steal the car of CBS News anchor Dan Rather from the parking lot of a Fort Worth, Texas hotel. He was caught. Instead of pressing charges, though, Rather had a talk with the young man about his choices in life.
Now twelve years later they’ve met again. In Kuwait, of all places. Rathers was there reporting on preparations for a possible war with Iraq, and had a chance encounter with the same kid who once tried to steal his car – and who is now U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Tamarsh Thompson, 27, a pilot in an Apache helicopter squad.
"He got his life together and is putting it on the line for his country," Rather said in his report on Wednesday's evening news.
