It could leave deep scars, but there is hope for a normal life after such experiences, or even worse. In this part of the world, in 1976, a 12 year old girl named Abby Drover was kidnaped on the way to school. She was held in a dungeon for six months, tortured and raped and starved. Today she is a < a href = http://www.policevictimservices.bc.ca/news/adrover/gillespie1.htm>mother of three and has appeared on TV and seems to be a relatively normal person... certainly one of the most courageous I've ever heard of.
