I've seen computers infected with virii like that. They seem to exploit a feature in IE that lets a Web site put a link on their page like "Make ME your home page!". But it's supposed to prompt you for permission, and if it didn't, they've found a new way in. Glad to hear that clearing your cache got rid of it.
(I've been wondering if it was Roberts handy work since I was reading his code?)
Hey, I'm good, but I'm not so good that simply reading my code will infect your computer. Man, what I could do with a telepathic virus!
Back in the late 70s I worked with a programmer from Berkeley whose pet project was a telepathic compiler--you think about what you want, and the compiler writes the code. I haven't heard how his project turned out.
