Another socialist wet dream.

The opportunity to show yet another textbook example of the bankrupt idea of socialism would be almost worth it. Korea, Vietnam, China/Taiwan and Germany were divided from each other, with one following capitalism and the other socialism. The perfect experiments, with identical cultures, languages, histories, and other factors. One variable: the economic/political system. We all saw what happened, but people now seem to forget. Certainly the author, who has what charitably could be called an "imaginative" view of America history, probably has forgotten.

What better way to clarify the truth than to make the Bay Area a socialist preserve? We could watch the eager rulers passing their jackassed economic and social laws. Watch businesses enslaved by taxes and regulations trying to flee for their lives, and prevented by laws that nail them to their present locations. Watch the massive social spending attract every parasite in America. Watch yet another "nation" fall into ruins and finally succumb to the inevitable totalitarianism required to maintain the socialist system in the face of human individuality.

Kids could get tours...see? This is what it's like when university professors get to run the world.
