Armageddon is misunderstood.

Armageddon is the ongoing struggle between good and evil. It never officially starts and it never officially ends - but rather it is a conceptual manifestation of greater forces and their plans for humanity.

In the future*, it is not a single planet leader who leads a worldwide government but a 'leadership council' similar to the Roman senate or the US Congress elected by the various united states, comprising 12 members elected for a duration of 10 years. Unlike today, they elect people who do not hold strong biases or prejudices, are particularly emotional or have problems coming to quick solutions to global problems. In fact they are about as unlike present day politicians as can be imagined.

There are no parties per'se but rather individuals who adhere to various philosophical and scientific approaches to managing human society.

The earth is destined to be destroyed by natural calamities - not manmade ones.

By this time humanity will have blossomed to be more than the caterpillar feasting on the single leaf of earth, but will be like the butterfly galavanting through the cosmos freely.
